Daglas Drive-In

I was playing around with some new brushes in Procreate this week, and I thought I'd try making a background design of Daglas Drive-In in Canoga Park with its stylized Googie architecture. Daglas was one of the go-to lunch spots for me and some of my coworkers at a comic shop I used to work at while I was in high school. Their fries and pastrami sandwiches are amazing.

The Murals that weren't meant to be.

In 2009, Disney Online worked with the local Elementary School on a series of art murals as part of a community outreach program. Unfortunately, due to changes in management and priority shifts in the company, the murals were scrapped. Here was a concept I had come up with for the school's auditorium.

The first D23

Some of the Papercrafts we had on display at the first D23 in Anaheim. We had worked on getting ready for the show while still keeping our regular production schedule which meant that we had to pull some extra hours of work. In the end, it was well worth it; the Family.com printables team was a surprise hit at the Disney Online booth. Fans were asking us if they could buy our papercrafts or what subscription they would have to sign up for to get our creations.

I wasn't too pleased with the original version of Buzz; I was lucky to get a chance to update the model with Toy Story 3. The new Buzz looks fantastic, and there are two versions of him. :)

Star Tours concept posters

Back in the summer of 2011, I had been asked by the creative team at Disney Online to work on some poster designs for the re-opening of Star Tours at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. At the time, I was running the illustration department for Family.com and had finished working with ILM and Walt Disney Imagineering on the Star Speeder 1000 papercraft, which would be hosted on Family.com and Disney Parks and Resorts websites; we ended up doing all the Speeders from the new ride.

The creative leads at Disney Online knew I was a huge Star Wars fan and asked if I could up with some poster ideas to pitch to Lucasfilm and Disney Parks for a downloadable poster which was to be hosted on Disney Online. I came up with these three concepts, the one that ultimately got picked, "Coruscant" was modified, and I had to use actual still images from Lucasfilm as they only permitted us to use their content. The final image had a similar feel to my original version and ended up looking great.
